i don't see why you'd bother bringing a 1uz to under 3L as the amount of cost invloved in doing so you could have spent on the cheaper 2jzge and get far more power anyway. Sure it'd be cool, but unless you have uber budgets it just ain't possible.

Heh heh, I guess. But once you had the 1UZ down to 3L you could rev its tits off without having to worry about the bottom end.

Anyway, yeah it's probably a silly suggestion. 2JZ-GE is awesome. Could you increase compression on a 2JZ by running a thinner head gasket and perhaps shaving the head? You might have issues with the valves hitting the piston if you run a lumpier cam with that setup though.

Does anyone make ITBs for a 2JZ?

mmm noice such a smooth motor as well, very quiet (much to do with the camry sound deadening) seems to lack low down torque though(manual 2002 camry touring kerb weight 1400kg), doesn't really hammer to above 4thousand+ rpm and loves to play tag with the 6.5krpm limiter.

Can't really judge on the engine note what you can hear is alright but even at the redline the engine is quiet as once again sound deadening.

I dont believe itbs raise the bar much on max power, more on responsiveness (and they sound sooo good), the remaining 8 rwKW Wayne is short on GT is probably due to the ecu I guess ??

Nah, I think I like the 2jz, seems a bit simpler

On stock cams ITB's will not do much in the form of peak power as you said.
Its all about A) the noise and B) the response.

Give it some serious cams and you'll be needing those ITB's though.

I'd buy those ITB's off Ed in a flash, if that's all I had to change.....but. To get ITB's to work properly I'd need a brank spankin new ECU, tune said ECU, get intake piping fitted to go up with that bellmouth, possibly a fuel rail too? Trust me I'd love to do it, but just don't think it's feasible, but people feel free to correct me if people don't think it would cost me the earth. It'd be nice to have the intake on the opposite side of the engine to the Exhaust too

well i make 20 v throttles and can make 6 of any size that you may like ,on daves corona he has 6 x48mm throttles .i can make 45mm 48mm 50mm and 52mm that are still the same width as well as length as the std 20 v throttles are, my sets of 4 or 6 have all the linkages as well and you keep the injectors in the head as well like daves and im running vvti on my 3sge motor as well its all very interesting what you can do with it ,but you wont be able to run 540 thou cams in your 2jz maybe about 440 thou tops but that would be ok

So if I get the 1uzquadcam.co.nz manifold, and 2 lots of 4x52mm throttles off you, it will all work?
