Yeah well, had you put in for leave and got it approved, commited money based upon that, then your boss decide she was taking leave and not you? Or did she just beat you to it?

I tried that this week, i asked (kind of knowing the answer already) if i might be able to take thursday as well for an oran park day (while the other guy is off just having had surgery on his spine, and i'm on jury duty from monday). Predictably, no. Being 'sick' would not be well received.

But at least your boss isn't there to notice you're not..?
