Nope its not the BOV at all, i've even tried running without one and car still has a a bit of a rough idle just like before.

try spraying carby cleaner around hose joins and see if idle changes if so then your found your problem. is your ISCV plugged in correctly?? check hose leading for T piece to intake manifold

To check for intake leaks I might use a bike pump to pressurize the whole intake system, but will have to make some kind of adapter that i can clamp onto the hose after AFM.

I have checked all the vacuum lines near the manifold and there seems to be no leaks.

Isn't it a bit dangerous to spray carby cleaner around when the engine is running?

    Thanks,

carby cleaner does not burn. if the engine coughs and splutters its cos there is a leak & it has inhaled a non-combustible substance

Just use some mildly soapy water instead of carby cleaner.

Your not hosing it on anyways your only giving a few squirts over joins.

Ah will do Leeroy, I'll go try make some kind of adapter up so I can attach my bike pump to the Intake system, I have lots of valves from bike tubes that I can use, really not sure how I would do it but I'll find out when i get to it.

Just get a cap from a plumbing store (bunnings even) and then sikaflex or whatever the bike valve into it.

    Pump away!

    Hi,

Today I took my spark plugs out and tested compression, aswell as tested the ignition coil resistance.

I got a reading of 11K Ohms for the Ignition Coil resistance.

When I took the spark plugs out, most of them were fairly white except for the ones from 3 and 4.

I did a compression test, here are me results. 4 strokes, I recorded first and last stroke compression. Here are my results. I did 2 trials per cylinder.

    Cyl 1 - 90/150 ............ 90/150
    Cyl 2 - 90/159 ............ 100/168
    Cyl 3 - 100/168 ............ 100/175
    Cyl 4 - 100/175 ............ 100/175
    Cyl 5 - 100/160 ............ 90/172
    Cyl 6 - 100/170 ............ 100/175

Are these readings ok? Cyl 1 seems to show low compression.
