First celica with rack n pinion steering?

A question for the Celica experts out there.
What was the first Celica with rack and pinion steering?
What Im looking to do is convert an old TA22 Celica I have here into rack and pinion rather then the dodgy old recirculating ball style steering box it has.
Its a bit of a project for a customer, and I was hoping there was something which would be very very close to bolting straight in with the least mods possible.

No way in hell you'll fit it in a TA22.

Compared to what else is happening to the car, a custom xmember wont be challenging.
Mind you its nothing compared to the lexus/gtr/4wd one some other guy was doing

I have seen a KE70/AE71 R&P Steering setup in a TA22 (as I have in my RA28), but it needs to be modified to fit...

You just need a rack with the same length as the drag link and tie rods the same length as the control arms.

OR use a center pull rack, like in a old carmira, then fab up some alloy tir rods and well in some mounts and you are done. If you wan the PS to work then ull need a PS pump too...

Yeah but has an actual solution been found? All I ever saw when readin the thread was a constant theory and probability to stuff working. Where is the THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO PUT IN R&P STEERING INTO A TA22 DAMMIT!
