Creak noise when turning, leaking PS Rack?

Hey guys

Search didn't bring much up on this.

Ive a 95 JZA80 Supra, recently noticed a grinding creak when turning/steering the wheel!
Brought it to a local mech who noticed a leak from the power steering rack, it looked pretty bad. I really don't know too much about this, he just said get it rebuilt or buy a refurbed one... he didn't say where and a google search isn't showing much.

Does anyone know a place in Sydney I can get one or bring the car in to get it fixed?

Called up...it's that pricey!? but with warranty I guess...

About $300 im guessing.

Depending on access to the rack it can be a real pita so incl rack having someone change it can be circa $700 and upwards.

$495 for rebuild...$900ish for full install...yowsers!

Doesn't look like an easy DIY as well. Will call around a few more

hey guys, quick bump...anyone know of another place for rack rebuild?...not whinging but is it really this pricey?

hoxton park auto spares.. they do exchange racks.. pull yours out give it to them and the give u an exchanged reco-ed one for cheaper. then u just gotta find someone to pull it out for you..
i could do that for u =p

if it a groan, replace ps pump. My 7m had the same thing groaning and a bit of a leak, which turned into a big leak. so replaced the res lines and pump now no problems

oh and the cost, $50 for the res + pump and lines (2nd hand) and a few hours time to replace it.
