    Default Fabricating intercooler piping.

Hi. 1G into 28. need to design the intercooler piping and am after suggestion on a good way to measure up the angles in a more concrete way, rather than sitting there and sort of doing it by eye. its not a really complex thing but i dont have much room to work and if they are a bit out they will tend to look average and put kinks on the silicone bends. Its hard to make something that will translate to 2.5inch piping from bending copper wire into form etc. Any good suggestions would be handy.

I generally for the most part do it by eye!

That said I also do have some offcut angles that I used to help in the mocking up process...

But I don't mock them up, I just start making the IC piping, tacking it in place and building form there...

Not sure if I have been anyhelp at all! Good luck!

    Cheers
    Wilbo

i follow the same route as wilbo but once you fitted over 100 intercoolers it kinda just works out.

if your doing it for the first time then measure the angles with a piece of welding wire and then use a protractor to get the right angle.

hard but trust me you'll pick it up after doing it 10 or more times.

also the best tip i can give you is cut the angle 5deg more than you think you need and the pipe 25mm longer than you think you need, its easy to take more off but looks like arse if you try to add more on.

    cheers

Thanks guys. i will grab some wire and just mock up some rough angles. Good advice to give a bit extra, then take it off if needed. Cheers.
