4age into corona

hi my son is think about putting a 4age in his 86 corona only problem is will it fit please help

is this a RT142 corona?

it will fit but it wont go any better, the corona comes standard with a 2.4 litre engine and you want to put in a 1.6 litre engine

granted the 4A-GE is a great engine there are better engines to put in

if you want to keep it non-turbo consider a 1G-GE which is a 2 litre 6cylinder that would fit well

other options are 3S-GE (2ltr 4cyl) but will require some work to make it RWD

then its the larger 6cylinders from there 1JZ-GE, 2JZ-GE and 7M-GE all are big and require some shoehorning

i suppose the question is what are your final plans for the car, does it have to be non-turbo and how much money have you got to spend?

Not sure how conversion savvy you guys are but I suggest any of the Camry V6s in RWD format.
Check for legality etc.

pretty easy. just new cross member and mounts and gearbox and g/box mounts and tailshaft. and some other bits !!

They actually made Coronas with 4age as an option way back when. Why? But it means it can be done and if you should find a at141 halfcut, it'll be bolt in, haha.
