i'm using lucas pads in my supra and i find them pretty good.
they cost about $70 a pair so are good value.
they are very dusty however.
i need some help with brake pads.
i have the r33 caliper conversion on my mx83 and understand how much a good pad helps with braking.
for instance going from cheapo to EBC blackstuff pads all round in the mx73 made a huge difference, as did going from stock r33 pads to EBC greenstuffs.
even after 4 good stops with ebc redstuffs, an emergency brake is well below par, i find myself pushing and pushing and the abs doesnt even kick in.
i know i am asking for the world looking for a pad that:
1/has good cold stopping power, or at least is quick to get to operating temp
2/good fade resistance in the hills
3/long lasting
i will forgo number 2 if i have to, since most of my driving is street and long distance.
i also dont mind paying a lot if i am paying for performance.
i feel EBC pads are over priced and my redstuffs are close to needing replacing after less than a year.
input would be appreciated.

1 word - Ferodo!
Project Mu or Ferodo DS2500
Endless pads are usually good.
SBS as well.

+1 for ferodo DS2500's best all round pad on the market IMO
endless
hawk
some lucas
project mu
all the above are good also, but dont think you will be walking out the door without paying $200+ for decent pads, then again what value do you put on your life?
cheers

1. Pay $200+ for EBC "coloured stuff" pads
2. Remove pads from box & place to one side.
3. Cut sides out of box & use pads as a template to cut out cardboard pads.
4. Install cardboard pads into calipers.
5. ?????
6. Enjoy brakes that will work as well as "coloured stuff" but with less dust & longer pad life.
i wont mind paying 300+ for brakes, they are important and i think that pound for pound, better braking gives you better performance than any other mod.
and thanks for the help, i wont be going ebc again,
will start looking at forodo or endless pads

Try SBS Ceramic (pro-touring)
I use them on the front brakes on the rally car,
They are long lasting, work very well when cold, and dont fade, stood up with 80 laps around wakefield almost non stop ( doing 1:15's ) as well as a season of rally use,
and still look new. I know the Sprinter is light but im using standard JDM disks and rotors they are that good.
Also dont neglect the rear brake pads, as they contribute to averall braking as well.
Ben.
