Default Converting MZ21 ABS to MZ20 Standard Brakes.

    Hi all,

I'm currently contemplating ripping out all the ABS gear in my MZ21 and am just wondering if anyone knows if there are any diferences between the ABS master cylinder/proportining valve and the non ABS one?

Should i just be able to replace the brake lines running from the master cylinder to the ABS module with lines off a non ABS mz20/ma70?

    Cheers All,
    Ash.

Judging by the TSRM, the master cylinder looks the same, but can anyone confirm this?

To swap the lines over will require the engine out of the car, if you wish to do this that is perfect for a factory look.

Other option is to remove the ABS unit and get a T piece for the front lines to connect up with and the rear line can be bent back down the adapter on the firewall.

    Thanks mate,

Engine is out of the car at present anyway, but that T piece idea sounds like an easier option than chasing down a new set of lines. Thanks for the heads up.

Do you mind taking a snap of the lines for reference sake, i took out the module this morning and it looks pretty straight forward. But picture would help.

    Cheers.

I have the ABS removed on my mz20. A new T piece will cost next to nothing from any brake shop. I can also confirm that the standard brake lines will work.

Yep it's pretty straight forward, though replacing the lines wouldlook a lot neater.
