what about an old celica at the show?
It's a Charity car show event, there is a section on the 'permit to drive an unregistered vehicle' form that relates to this, just tick that, tell them which roads you need to use to get there and back and you're done.Originally Posted by takai

Rego isnt the problem, its more the 142db exhaust, no speedo, no thermofan, 450deg C brake pads, full cage, minimum visibility, and semislicks which is the problem.Originally Posted by AndrewJZX100

I got pulled permitting the 81 home and as soon as the officer saw my permit it was gravy.

At this stage the "charity" chosen is CFS - we're still awaiting their approval before we can go broadcasting the fact. There are often extra resources that can be provided to the volunteers that fall outside the scope of govt funding, and with two brothers who are CFS captains and a cousin who died in the Black Tuesday fires, it's something I'm very passionate about contributing to.Originally Posted by PlacentaJuan
I can tell you now that I will go close to forking out $2000 of my own money for the event - blind Freddy can tell you that we will need 200 cars at least before the entrant's money starts getting thrown back into the pot.
The reason we even chose to have a donation to charity was because we didn't feel comfortable making a profit from the day, and thought that the money could be put to better use than lining our pockets. To be honest, if I wanted to make money, running this car show wouldn't be the best way to do it
I'm hoping a rep from the CFS will be there to accept the donations on the day (saves us having to count it!), but if not, tallies will be posted on the website once they're counted and delivered.
I import stuff. Good stuff. Toyotas even.
Sounds good, oldschool variety is always interesting, shall have to drive down in the adub for a looksee.![]()
