Sorry about the delays in getting an anser for this, i've been through my shed a few times now, (when i'm at the exwifes) & still not been able to find the mk2 RA40 parts..
i'll look again this week end, & if i can't find i'll go to the wreckers & get one...

as for the MX73/83 stalk.. you may have a prob' with the arms, as they is on a different angle to the earlyer ones... so you will some how have to fit the shroud from the MX's...

i'll try to do a full write up on these early next week.....

Thanks heaps for those. any chance someone could snap a photo of the back side of the MK2 relay block. Need wire positions for the wiper box.

    Cheers Mike

I have also used the rear int' wiper "BlackBox" for rear int' wiper on an RA40 Hatch, & this may also be the same as the 'BrownBox" i'll open them up & see if they is the same..??

I've also fitted these "GreenBox" from the RA60/3/5's. they are found in the front R/H kick panel, on the fusebox..
with the use of this GreenBox & a few extra lamps that you will find in RA60/3/5 & R/ST141/2, this will give you a pair of "Footwell" courtesy Lamps with a 30 second "On" delay after the door is closed, it can also be used for a lamp around the ignition switch, (So you can find the hole)

I'll do a wire diagram for this....

you will also find many small lamps in the RA60's etc.. these can be use in the lamp cluster on the dashes in RA23 & RA28's.. I'll explain more latter..

    cheers.

BTW with a friend I'm working on another way to add variable intermittent wipers to a car that didn't have intermittent wipers at all. A small circuit that you add, cutting just one original wire and no other wires needed (bar a ground eyelet). A bit less elegant than using a later model stalk, but easier to install and suits just about any old Toy

I see what you mean - the park circuit passes through the stalk switch as well.

I guess I could still trigger wipe cycles by letting the circuit operate in OFF mode, and having it momentarily bridge the park switch. Still requires just one relay and 555. But inconvenient to switch back and forth between low and intermittent. Hmmm.

Fair point, but you can wire a 555 so that it triggers first, then waits. Even if only by inverting its output. Which is no biggie because it would be a bit much to have it control a standard automotive grade relay without any form of buffering anyway.

It's the swiss army knife of timer chips with millions of operating modes - it can do this task alone.

Of course there are many ways, I'll just see where I end up

Hmmmm.. my thread has been Hi-jacked by the 555......

Just use the "Brown Box" found iin the RA40, RA60, RA63, ST141, etc.. they are easy to fit.... you can even run a seperate switch if you not want to fit the indicater/wiper stalk..

i have ever used them for int' rear wippers on a RA40 Hatch, with just the extra switch....

    cheers
