Or you can use an original RWD 2S oil pan and pick up from an SA63 Celica - not sure if you ever had that model in USA, but postage on a panset would not be prohibitive.
Hi
im trying to prep my engine for a convertion into my 73 mark2 rx12.
I wonder if anyone have tried to cut and weld the existing 18r oilpan buttom onto the 3s oilpan?
it seems to be doable pretty easy, but will this give me any other problems? like problems with the oilpickup or something like that?, as long as the oilpan will hold Plenty of oil and the pickup is in a good spot, should i be good to go?
another pretty easy option seems to cut and weld, turning the pan around so i get it on the sump tothe back of the engine, then i will keep the tilt on the oilpan tho, but this car is just a daily driver and no race car, will it still get enough oil, or is a tilted oilpan no way to go, no matter what? i have heard they on some occations can get too little oil under hard driving with a tilted pan, but is this just in extreme cases and should it be fine for my usage?
i can also get a 2s oilpan from a fwd camry, but will this have the tilt too, or are they flat even in the fwd?
Thanks in advance for all ur help![]()

Thanks for ur answer, will that be a perfect fit? no mods needed?
will this fit both the 3sge, and 3sfe?
do you have any suggestion on where i can get hold of a pan like that?
thanks again
if you didnt get the 2S-C motor in RWD format in the US the best place to get one is to find a kind aussie thats willing to go grab one and post it to you.Originally Posted by MarkIIRx12
make sure they get you the oil pickup as well, engine mounts and starter motor can help too

I'd suggest a "Wanted Ad" here on toymods will be your best option - I also have RWD starter motors, engine to gearbox braces and engine mounts if you're interested? Postage alone on a 5Kg parcel is around $100AuD.Originally Posted by MarkIIRx12

Clint if you are home this weekend give me a buzz and i will drop the head off to you.
Thanks again for ur info
Im actually in Norway, europe now tho, and thoose cars isnt delivered here either.
Clintoris, yes that sounds intresting, im using a W50 gearbox with a C housing tho, and that fits the S motor perfectly, so i assume i can use the backetts and starter on that too, does it matter wich side my housing has the starter on? i can use the 3s flywheel tho, correct?, do you think u have a chance to get the oilpan and pickup i need for example from a junkyard? of course i would pay u for ur effort, and it would be nice to get everything in one parcel. could that be doable?
Thanks again for ur help
another question, does the sa63 oilpan have the sump in the middle, back or front?
SA63 is front sump.
If you are in Norway, the C series diesels may be worth a look. I've heard they are just a 3S with a few tweaks to run on diesel. And could possibly be more available.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
Front sump, but the motor may be short enough such that it fits. I can vouch that a 3VZ front sump does with a small amount of panel beating.Originally Posted by MarkIIRx12

I have a 1C oilpan, but since this is a 1.8L, i assume this is the same engine as a 1'S? if so, will the oilpan still help me? 2C rwd isnt a very common engine either, only one i know comes from a liteace, and this has a pretty huge front sump. will the starter, engine mounts etc from a 1s/1c still help me?
The space with a front sump looks very tight to me in my car, im not sure how long and big the 18r is compeared to a 3S, the 18r i have has a mid-rear sump, but maybe u guys with old mark II's have more experiense with other engines and knows how it will work out when the engine finally is in place?
the 1C is a pretty tiny engine compared to the 18r it seems like, so if the 3s is about the same size as a 1c, then im guessing a front sump should be ok anyway.
anyone knows about how much i have to cut into the firewall to get t he dizzy in on this car?
Rather than cut a dirty great hole in the firewall, how about front mounting the distributor? It would require a small amount of fabrication but is a far more elegant option. Besides, having the dizzy protrude into the cabin might potentially mean you couldn't run a heater (it sits right behind there). Not sure that's wise in Norway!Originally Posted by MarkIIRx12
