Default ke70 4k auto to manaul conversion

    Gday,
I have a ke70 with a 4k engine and auto which i am just starting to convert to a manual k40 box. Does anyone know if the tailshaft is the same for the k40 box and k50 box ?
    Thanks in advance

yes, K40 and K50 are same output spline from gearbox. from KE10 K40 to KE70 K50...

depends on the end of the clutch fork thingy.
from memory, KE70 has different design to the previous models...but the length of cable should be same.. just different ends.

if the K40 is from KE70, should be no problem.

then again, i've used KE10/20/30 and 70 K40 and K50 in KE10, all with same clutch cable.

as long as the end of the cable sits in the groove in the clutch fork ok, should be fine

actually, i have a KE70 K50 box sitting outside.. i can take pic of the clutch fork if you need?
it used the square thingy liek this

whereas earlier cars used something more like this?

either way, there is a groove in clutch fork so i think they all work

actually i should check all the various gearboxes i have around... anyway...

    looks crusty.. apaologies

    this is original KE70 K50 5 speed
KE7x has more of a hook to make sure the cable can't come off.. but the groove is still same as earlier models?
