I'm thinking to use a set of 3tgte cam in my 2tg/3t hybrid, would it make any difference?

My suggestion would be, to get those 3T-GT cams and put them in, and if they don't make any difference you could always get them or your 2T-G ones re-ground to a higher duration spec, together with some double valve springs (if you don't already have them) and a re-shim and you have yourself a mild head.

I have 3T-GT cams in my 2T-G but they have been re-ground. I also have the standard 88222 and 88261 cams (just by looking at the lobes 88222>88261), plus 2 x 88220 cams re-ground, I can't get exact figures until I get a degree wheel and doctor them in the motor.

yes, it was pretty much the same as a 2T-G set of cams. Just remember the intake cam has the gear drive for the dizzy on the 3T-GT. And re-check the cam lobe to bucket clearances and re-shim.

what number 3T-GT cams are you getting? 88280 ones?

My 3T-GT cams are re-ground to 288/304 so they are not the standard spec. As for gain, they start at about 3krpm.

(.375) 9.52mm on 288 and (.410)10.41mm on 304. Nothing to wild, as I'm planning on going bigger and higher duration. Some where around:

    278 @ 50 thou (.428) 10.87mm lift

If you plan on getting your cams re-ground, here are some high duration specs:
    280deg 238 @ 50 thou (0.38) 9.65mm lift
    300deg 252 @ 50 thou (0.407) 10.34mm lift
    310deg 262 @ 50 thou (0.462) 11.73mm lift

Just make sure all clearances are checked like for example .010 hot.
And for your cams to work, your intake setup should be just as good as you exhaust setup (jetting/ram tube/runner length vs 4-2-1 or 4-1 exhaust manifolds)

I'm guessing 272 deg, have you tried some of the Kameari products?

This is what I have, re-ground 88220 cams:

for F.I. I wouldn't suggest anything too high of an over lap as air can pass straight across the valves.

what do you use for timing the cams? do you've adjustable cam gears or just direct swap and reshim to factory figures?
