yep, H2O created
as i was trying to take pics of an 8k or up rpm while the car was jacked and on 1st gear, i saw water drops coming out of the exhaust and on to the wall of the garage. is this normal?
the engine seems to run fine. just that.
yep, H2O created
yep, H2O created by also if you have cat
that's good to know. what's a cat by the way?![]()
and exactly how does water get to my exhaust anyway?![]()

Petrol is a hydrocarbon. Hydrocarbons, when mixed with oxygen (from air) in the right proportions and heated/compressed to the correct temperature/pressure, form carbon dioxide and water vapour. By the time the exhaust gases reach the end of the tail-pipe (especially if it is cold), some of that water vapour will have have condensed. This is how you get water dripping out of exhausts when the car and ambient temperatures are cool.Originally Posted by dencio1976
As an aside, if you take the carbon and oxygen out of petrol, you are left with hydrogen. Thus, you'll get no carbon dioxide in the exhaust, and you're left with just water. This is why hydrogen fueled cars are technically zero-emission

Not exactly. Every car produces water as part of their exhaust gases, just you don't normally see it unless it is cold. And trust me, there is still plenty of carbon dioxide coming out of your exhaust too (which is bad, but unavoidable as all cars put it out too), and you can't see that.Originally Posted by dencio1976

well atleast that's good to know that it's normal. never seen this on other cars that's why.![]()
You've got to be careful when you do this, some cars use CV joints that lash about when they aren't in the laden position, you can make quite a nasty projectile out of a high speed CV. Just a word of caution.while the car was jacked and on 1st gear

Its illegal not to have a catalytic converter you know?Originally Posted by dencio1976
