yup, im from the philippines. unfortunately, catalytic converters arent mandatory on older model cars.

What do you mean by unfortunately? Are most of the cars old so they arent running cats?

You don't need a catalytic converter here either, but only if you drive a car which has an engine in it which didn't come with a cat as standard (ie it was sold back in the Leaded petrol days, like my KE55)

unfortunately meaning pollution control isnt that much here.

hiro: oh i thought it was illegal. if that is so then it's pretty much the same here about catalytic converters.
