i could be a battery but i'd check the wiring to the battery, alternator and the earths on the motor. See if the wiring is burnt at the alternator terminal. Vt commodores were bad for this.
hey guys this aint on my toyota but still just wondering if you can help me
as my daily car i got a v8 eb fairmont on lpg gas
and ever since i bought it the volts gauge has alays been goin crazy. goin bak and forward from like 11 volts to like 14-15. jumpin every second, and as a result of this my headlights and interior lights always kinda flicker etc.
the car has a new altenator, the battery is finem but why is this doing this. its kinda getting annoying. should i change the battery but im pretty sure its fine!!!

most likely the the reg, put the multimetre on the batt and see what she reading
earths or cables.
put a dedicated cable from alt to battery for both pos and neg

I used to work at a ford dealer when these were new and the fix ford told us for this problem (which is a common one BTW) was to rewire the sense wire for the voltage reg straight to the battery terminal on the alternator. I think from memory the sense wire was white/ black but please double check this before rewiring.
