Default 3tgte gurus please help me.

this morning i was pulling my throttle body off to replace it and i noticed that the hose that goes under the throttle body from the plennum to the throttle body had a ball bearing hose clamped in it, is there an upside to this or is it just a stupid idea?? could it be why my car doesnt idle??

Yes, that could be why it doesn't idle, I assume you mean the hose that goes (or should) to the idle control valve. Its open when cold and no current applied to the coil, when you start the car the coil will slowly heat up with current and heat from the head, gradually closing the valve slowly bringing it down from fast idle to normal.

If you don't have the part I have a couple, or they are probably the same on other Toyotas of similar vintage, I have a Nissan one here too that is almost identical

it idles fine when its cold but it just sort of hunts when its warm like it will go from 1000rpm normal down to 300rpm and back up to 1000rpm, the afr guage goes from rich to lean when it does this, its almost like its flooding at adle when its warm. and the oil light comes on and all that stuff, it even stalls some times

Havent got msn installed atm, just did a new windows install to try to fix some problems. I'd be fiddling with the fueling at warm idle, or the warm up map - depending what haltec you have

i dont have a tps either which probably doesnt help, im also locked out of my ecu as the retard who TRIED to tune it fucked shit up and doesnt want ppl to see his shitty mapping, im hoping that there is a way to just reset the ecu back to factory and start again, im just concerned as to why there was a ball bearing clamped in to block of the hose.

though if its fine when cold its probably just the main map that needs attention, i usually give a bit more fuel and timing at 500 rpm and under than what I have at idle (800 to 1000 rpm) to prevent hunting

No tps? Shit you kinda need that for transient fueling, -make it more responsive when you floor it. I don't know much about haltecs, there would have to be a way to unlock it!

Maybe the ball is there as the idle controll is stuffed? or to take it out of the equation when tuning

I think what your talking about is this...

Idle Air Control Vavle is the pipe going from just after the throttle, the blue plug is the control for it.

From what i understand (fairly limited) you do need it. It keeps your car at a steady idle while when the car is under loads (alt drain for example). I just pulled all the wires out of my car and it was wired back to the ECU, so it must be doing something...
