2M vs 4M camshaft

I'm not an authority on early M series engines,

But the info that I can offer is to be careful, as I'm pretty sure there are 'early' and 'late' 4Ms, which have different heads (Early has a round cam cover, late has the square 5M type cam cover), not sure if they have the same camshaft regardless of 'age'.

Theres about 6 diff cams for the early M engines to 1975 of 2 types that wont interchange with each other .
10/75 on theres about 3 which all will interchange with each other .

Yeah, watch out.

Early and late 4M heads have different journal diameters.

Then there are different oil feed systems for the camshaft between the early 2M and 4M heads. Some have oil that is fed through the camshaft whilst later variants of the early style heads have a little oil tube that bolts to the top of the cam journal cap that "drips" oil into the bearing.

That said, at a paltry 7 Euro + postage, I'd buy it to see.
