    Default Silvertop cam pulley.

Okay this may be a really dumb question for some of you but as i don't know the only way to find out is to ask.
Can you take the intake cam pulley off a Silvertop without any dramas or not?
IE Do they just unbolt and bolt up the same as the exhaust pulley or do they have some wierd thing like the Falcons that have to be locked in position etc?

    Thanks

I've zapped them off with the rattle gun without knowing any better. They don't appear to have any sort of locking provision.

They are a 2 mode pulley and the spring tension holds it advanced and oil pressure retards it, or vice versa i can't remember.

I read somewhere they are supposed to be replaced at the 100000km service, anyone have any info on this?
The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new

Yeah because they're just an on/off not variable there shouldn't be any issue, they'll have a default position without the solenoid powered/oil pressure supplied.

Haven't heard anything about service intervals, don't think i've really heard of them failing either? Sorry this post isn't anything more than opinion/heresay, partly subscribing too.

Yes they do fail... its called the "Deisel noise of death" - cos your 20V will sound like a rattly deisel.

They just unbolt like a normal pulley. Nothing special.
I think there is an o-ring on it tho, which you need to be careful not to nick.
