Tramlining is caused more by offset than width.
I've got 235's all around, and have no issues.
+20 on x8.5 on the front
+13 on x9 on the rear.
I used to have 215/45's on my old 17's on my old Z10, and it tramlined like a bitch especially so in the wet. Asides from reducing cost of tyres which is one point in going with 16's instead I'm just wondering whether a 195/45/16 on a 7, 8 stagger would be enough tyre on a Z10. I want to get the combination right so there's enough track, but it's not tramlining

hmm... well I'm currently looking at +25 offset wheels, plus probably running bolt on spacers

Umm, that will make tramlining worse.
Increasing the track (ie, making the offset more negative) will make tramlining more noticable than putting wider tyres on.

Excesive negative camber can also cause tramlining. Atleast it did in my MR2.

Yeah they have camber issues when you dump them which is another concern.

road cond is what is getting you,
i'd be going for 205/50/16 as its a common size.....hell of alot cheaper, more sidewall for shitty rd conditions,
And this size is probably a more suitable size for a z10/11. A 195/45 will have too small of a roll out diameter.Originally Posted by IN 05 NT
