    Default welding nuts to chassis

Had a problem today where one of the captive nuts that the lower control arm bolts onto has been stripped out and also moved away from it's holding.

So, a new nut, or a stud will need to be welded in it's place.

Who is best to go to for this sort of work? It's a relatively simple job except for accessing the cavity where the nut is held... and being that it bolts a LCA to the chassis in this point I'd rather get someone do it who knows what they're doing won't weaken the chassis at all

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

Geez you have had some bad luck with the cars.

Is the other side of the chassis easy to get to or not?
My first thought was to put a longer bolt through with a crush tube and a nut on the other side of the rail to hold it all but maybe a job best left to a decent panel beater/repair shop.
My sig has been pruned as it was over 5 lines long.

It doesn't look to be accessible at all

At least it wasn't my car this time around!

I wouldn't have even thought of a panel beater, they might be the best people for this one

any decent boilermaker would do it for a 6pak of turks and they will make it look that easy you won,t want to pay them .just make sure the area in nicely cleaned and all suspension bits are out of the way. cheers bigwad

Is the nut part of the x member? If it is then remove that if you cant get to it.
