have you thought about adapting a 2tgeu outlet or modifying the 3tgte one so that the hose only requires one bend? the 3tgte version is different to clear the sensors. but if you have brazing skills, it shouldn't be hard to hack off the 90' bend (steel outlet) and weld a different piece in there.
Considering the age of those pipes, good luck finding one that hasn't already ballooned

Speaking of oil coolers can anyone tell me if there is a thermostat in the factory cooler system?

Yep, the factory unit has a thermostat. Its inside the backing plate that sits behind the oil filter. From memory it opens when the oil temp gets above about 80C.

This is only on the later model 3T GTE's as the early ones didn't have oil cooled turbos.

    Cheers,
    Simon

    Hey all

just a quick one about coild packs and igniters. I'm running adaptronic E420c with forged internals and a GT28r with about 18psi. I'm not to sure about ignition systems. Would what 3jcelica suggested work with my application?

    Cheers

I believe that it will, except you will need to use 4 x hyundai dual output coil packs, not 2 as outlined by 3jcelica (remember yours has 8 spark plugs).
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

    Diz44zy,

Works for mine, forged internals, 20psi gt28rs.

You will need 2 wasted spark packs and 4 ignitors (if you wish to run all plugs, many people don't with no adverse effects)

or 1 wasted spark pack and 2 ignitiors if runing 1 set of plugs

(the hydundai packs come with 2x dual post coils)

Some type of crank angle sensor (there are wheels which can bolt striaght on from www.diyautotune.com)

the mitsibishi ignitors j121 can be found on vr/vs magnas and TE V6 magnas, heaps of these at the yards

    Roger,
I don't follow. Are you saying that you're running 8 plugs with only 2 coils?

When running the 3TGTE head on mine, we used 4 dual output coils and 2 x M&W dual ignitors.

Sorry should clarrify I run 4 x dual post coils and 4 single channel ignitors basically the same as yours.

When you get them of the hyundai they come joined i.e 1 coil pack = 2 x dual post coils
