The local coles carpark would be the best site without a doubt!

it is probably the largest piece of OPEN tarmac in the dubbo area.

Not if Coles is open 7 days a week, might be different there.

    i know

there is an undercover section, and the big out door section

the big out door one would be the best place in dubbo to hold it

alas i don't think it will happen

the old air base grounds? that area with all the hangers on the left of the main drag into town? closed or open? possibility?

and whats wrong with the idea of a navigation event? speed regulation is self governed by the long weekend double demerits

i'd like to assist with a Nav event - if you apply time penalties for those driving too fast (and folks are not in it to loose big mega amount) it would further discourge foolhardy speeding.

Create route based on google maps/ubd, get locals to provide clues/question for points en-route, get early-arrivals to check the route and correct any intersections/lights/closed roads. Could make it tricky by having stages and making competitors run the stages in different orders (to prevent folks simply following a competant map reader).

Observation questions can be used for positive point scoring (the recent clubman event in Adelaide had a nav run - and the question that sorted out the winners was a count of the number of dairy farms people drove past - 130-something of them).

If it involves any timing for points, then I think we all need a 2NS licence (or day licence) and a CAMS-sanctioned event permit.

    Ed,

I hadn't even thought of the old RAAF base.

I'll have to ask around to see what the deal is, but i am fairly sure it isn't used for anything these days.

    Hey Guys,

we have our room booked too.

I'm with Troy on showing interest for a "go to whoa" if at all possible.

i'm not particuarly interested in the other events that have been mentioned, but will support the event with my attendance and entry (provided the shitter is runnin again) in the interest of continuing and perhaps expanding the event next year.

    Cheers

A nav event, WTF???...it's not the Ghey Nats!!

Any auto event must involve either smoke, noise or speed...... and preferably all 3

It will be a great weekend regardless, but a shame if there's no chance to (legally) clear the cobwebs from all our toys.
