A few questions, do we get any idea of the layout before the day?

Do we have to do any scrutineering for the Motorkhana, does this happen on the day, or during the Show 'n' Shine?

Scrutineering will be occurring before the start of the motorkhana at the oval (if it was done any other time or place, you could posisbly alter the state of the car between scrutineering and the event).

I'll see if I can't get a copy of some of the layouts that are being considered online.

I may have missed it, but where is this Tarmac we have access too so close to the Matilda?

Also, thanks for the layout, looks interesting, don't think a Supra is going to do so well in the tight turns, but it will be a good gigle anyway.

Supra should be fine.. Couldn't be worse than the porsche's that we were watching do some of those tighter tests. Just needs the right balance of handbrake, throttle and steering... Kinda like drifting really.. Only a little slower... One guy in a R32 (albiet a worked one) was doing a decent job too.

And it will certainly be a hoot no matter what you bring not to mention that the classes will mean that effectively you'll be matched against cars that are of the same style. Outright winners will be calculated using an 'effective time' method, which will even up the competition a little more fairly between classes.

As for the venue, yes it is very close, and I'd announce where, but I assume there is a reason that the organisers of the nationals have not announced it anywhere, so I'll keep my mouth shut on that one. However, anyone with google maps should be able to find the one or two possible sites that are nearby relatively easily if you're really keen.

What time is the QLD crew leaving town? I'm aiming around 1300 Thursday ... but that said I'll probably miss. My car hasn't been driven since October, and hasn't been started since December... Lots still to do!

fwiw: wilbo's JZ12 can now start, has a new fuel pump and has brakes that work (albiet with a weird clicking noise when you press the pedal as i mashed it way too hard while helping bleed the brakes) ...

Out of interest, are the classes being divided in terms of engine capacity/driveline etc, or vehicle wheelbase?
