Are you talking early 1UZ or late VVTi 1UZ? NA or Turb or S/C?
For a good budget package you could go http://www.adaptronic.com.au fitted and tuned for around $1100. Or if you want the works check out the thread with IS200 1UZ VVTi Autronic SM4 for over $3,500

One persons opinion of 'best' is very different to another persons opinion.

The 'best' is MoTeC, bar none. However, it probably does eleventy billions things you'll never need.

For the 'best-bang-for-buck', as pointed out above, look into Adaptronic.

    Adaptronic.
Soarer guys seem to love em for the 1UZ.
I run one on the R33.
A mate used to run one on his Honda

All worked great from every account I've had with them.

is that from an engineering, service, adaptability, features or tuning point of veiw?
trust me there are faults with motec also in there mapping setup but i suppose it all depends on what you want to achieve with it.

personally i believe autronic would be the best as far as supplying the engine with exactly what it wants, but at the end of the day it doesn't mean shit if some monkey is punching the numbers in.

easiest thing to do is figure out your budget and find a couple of ecu's that could do the job and then figure out which one is the best for your needs.

    cheers

Ok cool thanks guys adaptronic sounds ok to me, It will be an early 90s front sump 1uz, so just looking for a basic ecu that covers all the important bits. Will just be street tuned with exhaust and extractors nothing fancy so dont need motec. Should push around 160kw hopefully id be happy with that

Yep definitely manual, im told the standard box will bolt up with correct bellhousing, and should hold if i dont treat it like crap, but with a stronger clutch. Will be keeping an eye open for stronger box as i know it will need replacing sooner or later.
Can anyone tell me what a minispool does for a diff? someone mentioned this instead of lsd

Minispool will lock your diff, therefore making it illegal. Someone else will explain how.. Go for an LSD mate its not worth the hastle and uncomfortable ride in your lux.. And if you are gonna load it up with gear then you will break stuff axles etc..

    Thanks,

    Chris.

If you are keeping the motor pretty stock, why not run the factory computer ? will certainly save you a shit load, & no tuning issues etc .. You cant beat the millions the factory spend on R&D ...
