I'm not sure what the thread is, but if you are looking at getting rid of the sandwich plate and want a shorter threaded piece, you can use one off a 4ac as they are the same thread in the block.
Hope this helps.
what is the thread type for the 4AGE oil cooler/filter sandwich plate to the block? Need to know as am piecing together a remote oil filter / cooler setup and wont be buying a kit.
I have searched and found that thread for the oil filter side of this is 3/4''-16 but I don't know what the block side thread is.
Thanks

That's what my 4AGTE is setup like. A word of advice, don't skimp on any of it, mainly the cooler and fittings.
I tried two cheap coolers (permacool and ebay) trying to save a $ and in the end went for a 3rd core which cost a lot but works a hell of a lot better. Should have just got that one to start with.
The permacool spin on adaptor and remote mount and thermostat all seem to work well though and are reasonably priced. The thermostat is a big ugly bit of kit though, if I had my time again I'd get a sandwich plate style thermostat for a neater finish.

with the remote oil filter set-up on the lil feral's TC, i removed the oil filter sandwhich plates and used the large hollow threaded section from the sandwhich plates, put that into the block and screws the remote oil filter block to it.
like on the feral i removed the sandwhich plates, used the same inner hollow bolt and put the oil filter directly to the block.
Yep 4AGE is 3/4-16 thread for the oil filer. As YLD-16L says, a good oil cooler is pretty much essential - something like an Earls, Serck or Setrab are a good place to start - but pricey. The Perma Cool or Ealrs adapters are quite good, but unfortunately the reasonabl\y priced ones come in 1/2 NPT rather than AN flare fittings, which generally means you need to buy AN-NPT adapters. For full flow oil cooler I'd be looking at 1/2" hose minimum, which is AN-8. I've got a Serck 19 row cooler with AN-10 fittings so I'm going to run 5/8 hose for my application.
