    Default 1uz mx62 cressida.

    hey guys..

i searched the forums and found a bit of stuff on doing this conversions with the later cressidas but nothing on mx 62's and i was wondering what is involved..

The car has been converted to manual already and i would like to keep it that way so i would need a custom bell housing i'm guessing?? other than this does anyone know what kind of work is needed to do this conversion? engine mounts etc etc.

the engine will be out of a 1990 celcior if that makes any difference.

if i haven't given enough detail i'm sorry and just ask and i can let you know.

    thanks for all the help

    cheers
    vinno.

all the usuall engine conversion cons,

    efi wiring,
    fuel pump/s
    fuel lines
    coolant hoses/radiator upgrades
    exhaust
    mounts
(may need custom headers to fit?)
the correct sump setup * (i think you need front sump, from a UZS131 crown would work)
dont know if the MX62 runs a steering box or rack? if box, may need a rack conversion to get the motor to sit flat,

(search for pics of a UZS131, the motor sits on a factory lean to clear the steering box)

bell hosings are available to sit the 1uz now, aswell as clutches to suit (has been covered quite a few times now)

it is already efi so wouldn't it just be a case of swapping loom and computer?

i am 90% sure it runs a steering box.

the new engine is already front sump so do you know if it will work or will i still need the other sump? i guess i'll just have to make some measurements to determine whether i need the headers or not..

    cheers

    Hey man,

Front sump is the sump you will need so that is good.

Engine mounts you should be able to grab off CrUZida,

Bellhousing, fly, will be a bit exy, and will the exhuast unless you run the block hugging headers!

    Cheers
    Wilbo
