Default fitting aftermarket cam gears to 1jz question

I have heard that with some of the aftermarket cam gears once fitted, the cover will not fit over the gears. can anyone clear this up?

this is true but only for fidanza and some custom made gears, im pretty sure all the jap gears fit behind as they scolop the front face out and have the bolts countersunk / recessed.

    cheers

Fidanza's fit just, put every thing back on as normal but dont tighten the top middle two bolts that go through the coil cover as well. Grab a second pair of hands to pull the cover out with a decent amount of force pressure. Tighten the shit out of the top two bolts. Should be ok now

I've been doing that to mine with success although I've just pulled the cover out myself then tightened with the same result. Every now and then it might stat to scrape again, just pull and tighten again.

+1 for the Greddy, mine fits fine. Make sure you tighten up the bolts on it VERY tight though.
