yes its an A340 as well.

Hey guys just trying to weigh up some options here. I've come to the conclusion that once the new motor goes in that my stock gearbox will last all of about 30 seconds!
Option 1, drop it off to Mike at MV Autos (or he can pick it up as he lives 9 houses up the road from me!)
Option 2, R154 - enough said
Option 3, now this is where advice is needed. Anyone know what box the 7MGTE powered A70/Z20 runs? I've heard rumours that it may be the A340, anyone confirm this? The mate helping me with my engine build has a full MV built version (he just can't remember what it is! Bought the car 3 years ago, took it to MV, 4 days later put a manual in and the box has been in storage ever since!).
Basically its mine if I wire up his Microtech ecu, so if it will fit, this is looking a viable option as my engine build has gone from $2k to about $6k! If it won't work I guess the credit card just gets some more abuse lol

No worries mate, good luck with it. Should shift hard with the MV kit.
7MGTE came with the R154 only

You may find you still need to pull your mates gearbox apart and swap bits around to get the correct output shaft for your car, probably best to take a stroll nine houses up the road for some advice there![]()
if you put a fully buil mv box in it, it think it would be shit for street use.
we have a stage 1 shift kit and stallie with ratchet shifter, and it cherps all gears on the street.
the fully buil box would need to have some power goin through it to make it worthwhile.
but if its sittin there, might as well put it to good use!

Thanks for the responses guys! We fiiiiiiinaly found the build plates from my mates car (were removed for sandblasting and seam welding of the chassis) and it confirms what I wanted to hear![]()
