Yeah for sure, but if you were going to high flow them and put on twin dumps etc to get the performance then it would be cheaper to get a GT35 and Y pipe etc and get more performance.

As long as the stockers are making enough power then use them. Once you want more then get a turbo that is designed to move the amount of air you need.

A 3SGTE would be an interesting thing with a CT9 strapped to the side of it, all over by 4000rpm I reckon.
I would also say I agree, full boost at 2000rpm and puff out at 4000. Great for punch, bad for revs.

I can understand what you guys are saying about the big single, was just interested to see how a 1j would go with the high flow stock setup on even twin 2j turbos bolted up to the 1j. Me personally i prefer the stock looking setup but would like to see between 250 to 275 rwkw from it.
Has anyone tried the GCG high flow steel wheel ct12 1j turbos?

yep, but F me for the price i wouldn't bother. you would get a gt3076r or gt3582r on there for similar bucks and make heaps better midrange-topend

but hey its all dependant on 1 your budget 2 how easy it is to do it 3 what you wish to achieve.

yeah, if your after big power, then a single is the best bet.

lol, my bad, the ct9's are on 4e-fte's.

there is always route to stay with the twins, but replace the with gt28's or similar.

do you know what sort of power they are making with them?

I have a mate who was also thinking about a twin disco potato setup with the .64 rear housings. i believe he can get them at a fair price.
They may be a lag monster but as well.

i would say they are making in the high 200kw range. but there are not that many around.

just look at the rb26, its what everyone does with them and some get 500+kw.

Thanks for the reply seem like its will cost too much for little benefit... and as stated before I would love to go for a single and i know all the benefits of a modern compressor desigh... but I just do not want to re-detail and redesign my engine bay. All well and good if it looked like shit...then it wouldn’t matter what I put it or how messy it is installed....but too much hours went into the bay for me to change... I also like the stock pipe look of the 1G its unique.
I think the hiflowed blitz units will get me to where I want to go. Whats the price on a rebuild/refresh...
    Thanks 4 the input
