Default a few pressure regulator and injector rail q's.

im about to modify my fuel rail and im looking for some pointers/tech info.

    1. when a fuel pressure gauge is mounted to monitor pressure in the rail, is it essential that its actually mounted in the rail itself? Would it make a diffrence if it were in the rail or simply in the high pressure line anywhere after the pump? I.E. on the rubber line near the firewall before the rail. Basically would the pressure in all the fuel line after the pump be the same as the rail pressure?

    2. how close to the fuel rail does the pressure regulator have to be mounted? Is closer to the rail better? Ive seen some mounted up to half a metre away from the rail itself via rubber hoses, does that make any difference to rail pressure or cause any problems?

Due to space restrictions and ease of removal and adjustment etc etc im contemplating moving my pressure reg and installing a pressure gauge remote from the rail. rather than drilling and tapping my rail that is.

    Cheers

    1. no, if your pump is working correctly you should have fuel pressure the same all the way from your high pressure pump through your rail and to the regulator then your regulator will bleed of the excess pressure to maintain the level that you have adjusted it too
2.no i cant see it making a difference

Yeh you can put it anywere you wont the regulator that is .

see the red reg on the driver's side infront of tower, works fine 35 psi at idle and 60psi full boost.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

ok cool, 1:1 meaning raises fuel pressure 1psi for every 1psi of boost?

holy shit that means your running 25 psi through ya sprinter heheh nice!!!

im not shaw if malpassi's have changed but ive seen a few leak fuel around the side's of them were the diaphram is sandwiched together.
sard seem to be good but have tiny fittings unless there are other ones i havent seen.
