What PCD are we talking about? The camber top threads?
I know i had some problems with those if thats what your talking about?
What series of JIC coilovers did you get? Silvers? Golds?
Hey guys,
I just bought a set of (what I was told were jzx81 JIC coilovers). However it seems the coilovers are 100mm PCD instead of 105mm like the stock mx83 gear is. Just wondering if the Jzx81 ones are 100mm PCD normally and if not, what car could mine be out of?
Any help would be great!
Cheers Dan.

wrong section ???
should be in tech ?
Yeah I tried to delete the thread once I realised I put it in the wrong section, sorry Mods
Yeah the strut top threads...The coilovers are the golds, look to be fairly new but they arnt the newer base height adjustable ones however.... I was always under the impression they bolted straight in. I haven't tried that front ones yet but I'm guessing they will have the same issues?
Are they off by much?Originally Posted by 1jzDan

My advice is to get the camber plate as paralell as possible to the body (good as a 2 person job with someone under the car and someone linning up the threads with the body)
When i installed mine, i did have dramas though so dont stress
Give us the heads up if you need anymore help![]()

yeah the JIC are 100mm spacings and the stock ones are 105mm... I'll have a better look at it asap and see what I can work out.
unsure about the earlier models, but i have not had this problem with the latest of the JIC gold coilovers, they went straight in no issues at all... possibly just something JIC did with the earlier stuff?
twiztd
I've also got the golds in my cressie and i had no issue's at all, though i had the base height adjustable ones
I am almost considering selling these and just buying brand spankers base height adjustable ones but I need to make sure 100% that mine are definantly JZX81 ones, which it seems they arnt.... Just so I dont rip anyone off haha.
My non base golds went straight in. Looks like they might be out of something else.

Silly me didnt relise the strut top bolts arnt symetrical (i think thats the right word haha) Pretty embarrassing mistake haha, not a indication of my mechanical knowledge in general though! I'm normally the one that is helping other people with humourous mistakes like this haha.
Alright, now you can stir the crap out of me![]()
Tool!Sorry had to be said lol
