I got my bostik stuff in a squeeze tube from repco/autobahn/supercrap. messiest stuff I have ever worked with, but did a great job as a sealant
My windows have been sealed with a non-setting rubbery tar type substance.
Anyone know what that could be?

the guy who did my windscreen used a mastik that came in a semi-solid roll form - basically a rectangular extrusion with the layers of the roll seperated with waxy paper - a lot easier to lay it down in the recessed sections plus you can leave the wax paper covering the stuff until you're ready to put the glass back on.
no excess stringy, black goop to clean up.
thanks for all the info guys
If you are doing the install yourself, have fun. I would rather pay the man his $120.00 to have both screens fitted.
After he has gone squeeze some sealant between the glass and the seal. Most windscreen fitters do not do this, insisting that the glass and rubber will knit together. I can tell you for a fact the end result without the sealant there is wet feet!
cheers Chuck.

my windows dont have a rubber sealOriginally Posted by ChuckLandwehr
The window fitter I know uses SIKAFLEX 926 black You can get flat nozzles. make sure you clean the glass and inset to an inch of its life so it will adhere properly.DON`T drive the car for at least 12 hours.Originally Posted by toymotorsport
You will also need the rubber blocks to sit around the recess to situate the screen corectly.
