    Default Torque Converter weights

    Hi there!

I am doing some research into auto tranny components and would really appreciate if anyone that has some of these parts lying around could help out...

Basically I was hoping people could weigh their Torque Converters and driveplates/flexplates/flywheels and post up the weights (and of course what tranny/engine they are being used for) and brand of the Converter (if it's not a modified OEM one).

Thanks in advance - any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    David.

I posted mine to MV automatics last year and it came in at just under 20kg in a box at the post office.

It went out as a standard mx83 26 spline torque converter and came back as a Histall.

BTW it is impossible to get all the fluid out for shipping and I had to seal up the hole with plastic tape for shipping.

mine just came back from MV and it weighs about the same so they are just heavy in general (if i had scales i would measure it but unfortunately i dont)

edit 15.108kg in a light duty box (post office sticker) so about 15kgs on the nose.

    cheers
