Hey guys,
Well i finally got my AW11SC, loving it apart from a few niggly things which i will hopefully sort out soon enough!
Anyway... Something that is high on the list, i've got a MoTeC M48 ECU sat here making a rather good paper weight on my make-shift computer desk. So i've thought of a couple of things that i'd need to sus out.
The major one is the S/C Clutch. It seems to turn on and off when it feels like it, determined by RPM, Load and Throttle position. Am i correct here? Or is it more simple or more complex?
Basically when i run it on the MoTeC, i'm thinking of maybe having a 'kill switch' for it as well, but what kind of output should i setup for it? Like Throttle position x load or just a simple switch controlled by a given throttle percentage?
Ok and the next question is... are the idle control valve and the fast idle (air con one) simple 'air bypass' on/off solenoids with adjustable screws or are they a variable pull type (i.e. depending on voltage applied)?
I'm sure there will be more questions but that's all that i've been thinking about today.
Oh, where will i find a ECU wiring pinout for a factory AW11 '87 4AGZE?
Cheers,
Devs.
Getting the SC clutch setup is one of the trickiest parts of an aftermarket ECU setup on a ZE. Having it switch on load works OK, but you should have a timer so it doesn't switch off straight away. Somewhere on this forum there is a curcuit for a simple timer which does the job nicely.
The aircon valve is a simple on/off valve, the idle is a 3 wire PWM valve.
Try here for the wiring diagrams.
