Default AE93SX, how hard is it putting a new handbrake cable?

well the 1st time i ever really do anything major(not major at all) to my car was changing the brakes, 1st time i ever do it, but i learnt how to do it and changed rear pads, bled them, then changed front's, bled them.

all was good but the hand brake cable needed tightening, so we started to tighten it, then the bolt snapped, and it wasnt even that tight????

so im going to scavenge for a cable tomorrow as the blot didnt just snap and leave some thread, it snaped right next to the cable.

so should i buy a brandnew cable or just be a tight arse and get it from the wreckers?

and having close to no experience(other then just changing brakes and spark plugs, learning how to do things on it) is it hard to do? what is needed in order to change the handbrake cable?

    cheers, issa.

Handbrake cable goes from 1 brake, up the tunnel to below the lever and back down the tunnel to the other brake. I had to drop my exhaust from the cat back to the rear axel and then drop the heat shield in order to get the cable. It is a bit of work and you'll need a couple of new exh gaskets for the job. But it wasn't "Hard" per se. I got the cable from the wreckers and it was find. I did the job as part of my upgrade to rear discs.

Well I reckon if you can get one from the wreckers it could be good or may be damaged like the one you have. Don't know how much $$ a new one will set you back, though.
