Volvo Dana 30 Specifications Needed

Hi,

Im looking into a rear brake setup for my ke30 corolla 4agte.

I have searched and searched and searched for about 3 days. Trying to find pictures/info on the volvo live axel setups.

I also have noticed that the celica boys use the Dana 30 diffs because they bolt up apparently.

So im after:

1. What brakes do the live axel volvo diffs run? I believe its a twin spot solid disc setup.
2. What type of handbrake is used on this diff?
3. What axel size are these diffs? (28 spline i believe)
4. What actual size is the tube of the diff?
5. Do you have any pictures of the handbrake setup? (cable wise)

Sorry i know this is a toyota forum but i dont want to sign up to a ovlov forum and im sure you guys are way more knowledegable.

they use a 281 x 9.6mm solid disc with 2 pot girling calipers
they have an internal drum handbrake similar to commodores

thats about all i know about em unfortunately. ya can get LSD's fairly easy for em aftermarket, not sure about different ratios though.

diff ratios range fro, something like 3.2-5.0 something.... depends on the motor...4 banger or v6/straight 6, manual or auto, theres a very wide range of ratio's

tube size....do you mean the OD or the ID? can measure mine up if its OD

What im planning on doing it cutting the end cups of a dana 30 diff and welding them onto my borg warner diff.

Just want to make sure it has everything i want in the rear brake setup. Thanx blake.

Well went and checked the out at pickies anyway cause i had to get other stuff.

Bloody thing wont work compared to a commodore setup.

I thought you already had a falcon dif in the car ????

i assumed you had the same falcon discs i have

it is a borg warner 75 series, with drums ;( shes leaking with new seals so i have done something drastic and spending some more $$.

Also i have a twisted axel so that means billet for me. $$

anywho if no-one has anymore info for this thread is can be deleted/locked watever.
