Called crane cams as it was suggested on this site that you can get their shims through Coventry's but since they are close I contacted directly. They don't and haven't made shims for anything for a few years.

Other than them I don't know who make non genuine ones except through a Yamaha dealer for a 25mm shim. I confirmed tonight that 7M shims do match.

1G shims through Toyota have to be shipped from Japan thus a 3-4 week waiting list.

Got any suggestions on non genuine?

Shims for a 4A-FE in an AE92 are much smaller in OD than the shims from a 4A-FE in an AE101 (such as the 1996 Corolla).

precision shims in croydon have just about every size possible in stock on the shelf.

or u could go to a head shop or toyota wrecker and ask nicely to play swapsies with the ones you are taking out.

Can some type of sealant be used on the 1g-gte rocker covers instead of a gasket. can the sealant be applied ontop of the existing gasket or does the gasket need to come off?

The gasket needs to be replaced if it has hardened or is compressed.

    get them from toyota.
you can put high temp red on them if you want to be a dodgy fucker, and im assuming from such questions your amount of experience would lead you to putting on way too fucking much and ending up with high temp red in your oil system.
just go get some from toyota.
just inspect them when you get them. i got one that was obviously damaged but didnt look, put it straight on and it leaked like a prick. nothing i could do then, and at 30 or 40 bucks each it sucked.
