Yep it sure does (been a little slow in responding lately). I actually spoke to the boys in SA after I purchased by dry sump setup and I'm with charged on this one...it is an expensive way to go but I've always wanted to own a dry sumped car (call me weird).

The single biggest thing with the 3s in either NA or FI form is to use a smallish oil restrictor to limit the amount of oil flowing to the head. I reckon somewhere between 1.5mm and 2mm would do the job as long as you aren't running a variable cam timing Beams motor (or you have locked it off). Combine that with the external return line and decent pickup setup that charged mentioned and I reckon your on a winner for about 1/10 of the price of dry sump.

I went around to have a look at our new motor today and its looking pretty damned good. Its a red top beams head (single VCT thats been locked off) and a forged bottom end and new SS exhaust manifold and custom alloy inlet. With a slightly bigger exhaust cam we are hoping to drive the turbo a little harder this year and get some more torque and possibly some more top end HP too. Also managed to get the oil pump and factory water pump out of the equation to reduce frictional losses. Lots of work has gone into this one, the guy who does the fabrication is absolutely awesome.

If you need help on interpreting the rules, check out the IPRA forum and ask some questions, most people are pretty happy to help out.

I only just remembered last night to put my entry in for the Bathurst round...it was due yesterday. With any luck we'll get a run, if not maybe next year. I'll be doing the Nats this year as well (I have to support our home state nationals :-)). It should be a great event, an excellent way to see OP off if it actually is her last year.

Be good to finally put a face to the name(s)

Hopefully we won't need to borrow any more vice grips. The crane should be able support about 10 turbos worth of weight

cool. I have an issue of Zoom (?) magazine somewhere with a bunch of detail pics of one of the Bathurst-dominating R32 GTR racecars, and they appeared to have an elaborate rose-jointed "frame" to better support the weight of the turbos and exhaust manifolding. They also had eleventy billion oil coolers

edit: when do you reckon the car will be ready? I'm keen to get out there and watch you drive again

Yeah, thats Geoff's motor and where we stole the idea from. We thought we should support it from both the top and bottom this year due to the bending of the bodgy exhaust manifold we had to do.

It will be a while off yet, got to get some energy and start bogging it back up again. Motor is together but the engine bay needs preping and painting. Most of the rest of the car has the paint removed. Hopefully before Bathurst is the real answer

Dave you giving the car a complete freshen up ? You changing the colour ? Its hard getting motivated in the off season, mines still on the trailer from the last race meet.

I have good intentions of working on it but the river and wakeboarding are winning at the moment.

I think its time your car got its own thread in the owners rides section, people will be interested in that beast Everyone loves 25s

Pretty much, the old bog was cracking in a number of places and the paint was getting crows feet in the undercoat, so it was a little worse for wear. It was also made neccessary because the signage (which we were going to change this year anyway) stuck to the top coats better than the top cost stuck to the spray putty! So after the first sign came off I had a green and grey car all of a sudden.

Problem is if I put an owners ride entry in, then I'd have to update it every other week when something changes
