id definately be going with the 3tc + turbo given you already have some of the parts, then once the suspension/brakes/driver are sorted, and if i still wanted more power, id look at changing it then

Why not stick in a 4G63 and have the fun of upsetting everyone?

    I reccomend 3s great engine...

(I also have one for sale )

Seriously, it is a great option, but a fair bit more work than some of the others... I guess it depends how much you are willing to put into it!

A 3TGTE is the easyest most logical choice for a ta23 as it will pretty much bolt in, but the mods suggested earlier would need to be done to gain the power output you are after, and as for the 1g, hands off the one for sale that was suggested, with any luck it will be mine soon

Anyway good luck with what ever conversion you choose

If you're concerned about having the money to enter Dutton or a Hill Climb event, then the 3S-GTE route is a massive no go zone for you...

Being a TA23, then I'd go for either a 3T-GTE (but parts are getting harder to find), or my personal choice for such a vehicle, a 4A-GTE (using a 4A-GZE as a base)...

If you were going to use your RA23, then a 1G-GTE or 1G-GZE would be the route to head down...

Obviously, you could just swap the crossmembers over, but you may as well stick with the TA23 and go the 4A-GTE path, especially because the 4A-GZE has forged pistons from factory...

    is a ta23 x-member not desireable for 1g conversions?
    2T out 4A in....

    4A out 3VZ in. 3vzfe rebuild, RWD-ising, and conversion for ta22

I believe the RA23 is much more desirable as the 1G will bolt straight up to it with 1G-GE mounts...

(Maybe it does also with the TA23, but I have a feeling not...)

    1. Inject & turbo a 2t/3t eng.(got 2 of each & numerous g'boxes)
    2.4age turbo'd.
    3.3sgte.
    4.1Jz.
The car is 3rd car and will only be used weekends etc.If $$$ avail maybe a Dutton/Hill climb will be tried.(its a toy after all).
Any advice from people who have been there would be great.

    Cheers Ian.

Why not a supercharged 3RZ-FE??? May be lame suggestion since I don't know availability... but the 2.7 big 4 with a supercharger will supply enough torque for any xA23 and it may even break 200 rwhp while doing it

3RZ is a cool idea if chasing big power, but they are pretty heavy and also very tall so bonnet clearance may be a problem.

    MMMMM Choices Choices,
I will be using the RA23 as by the DOT fun police i can go upto 2.6+Turbo.
The old rally car(ta23) is looking to be more work than the other(ra23).Prob due to
a hard life and been sitting for 7yrs(1/2 outside). But i have most the good bits back
and enough spare's to build 2to3 cars Shells pending.
As regard to 3sgte,in a ball park figure when people say costly/expensive how
much are they talking about? What you might call costly i maynot.(Used to pay
    for Raliying).

    Cheers Ian.

RWD 3S-GTE conversion $8k+ (Depending on mods...)

    And that's being conservative...

And that's probably still being a little conservative...
Ok' will ad to plan, still not to bad by the time i build a inj&turbo 2/3t eng.
    Thinking,
    1/2 cut engine $ 2200.00
    W58 box $500/$1000.00(not sure)+
    Bell housing $$?
    Can fit myself.
    Mate can rewire.
Alls left is plumbing & fiddly bits.Probly most costly?

Sorry for long winded Questions but i think i would like to do it once, not 2t to 3sgte.

    Cheers Ian
