Custom alloy drop tank is the go but I have been quoted $700 to $1000 for one here in Perth - so eff that.
That is why I am going the cut and shut path, using as much OEM as possible...different strokes for different folks.
I tried taking a tape measure to a few jap wreckers but its like a needle in a hay stack and lots of the times cars are stacked on top of eachother which makes it quite difficult as well. I got a custom drop dank made for about $300. made out of 3mm (i think) aluminium and uses a late model falcon pick up which is on top of the dank which holds the pump and sender as well. However my tank is smallish as the car will be used for drag racing and the wheel well is gone now too but that was ugly anyway.

i am interested in the outcome of this aswell. i dont like the sound of having petrol fumes in the back of my car.
Ill be doing a very similar project soon and will probly end up cutting up the orginall tank or making a new one out of ally. Neither is a problem because i can do it all at work.
