    Default Manualising an MX83

    Hey guys,

How hard is it to convert an MX83 Cressi to a manual? Considering it will remain being a 7mge, just for the perferbility to be a manual.

What would you use? W58? Is this a direct bolt on? i know it would be strong enough.

w58, jzx90 pedal box and M/C (slightly modded), slotted gearbox xmember, mod tailshaft.

and a few other bits but its not overly hard.

also another bit that might f u up is the abs sensor in the box or maybe lack there of.

    cheers

use G(or is it L?)X81 gear. dont need to mod anything AFAIK.

i know the LX81's (deisel solid rear end jobbies) came manual, but i think the GX81's did too, the JZX81's didnt, and the MX83's didnt either, however the chassis are the same so its doable.

JXZ90 manual gear is hard to track down, not many of them came manual, and those that did make themselves into halfcuts are sexpensive.

W58 fits easiest in the tunnel, if you can source GX81 GT pedals etc then it all bolts straight in.

The clutch and brake pedals from the a70 are very close fit and require minimal modding to get to fit. One of my mates (andrew who drifts one here in SA) has done this to 3 MX83's now and thats the pedal set he uses.
Depending on what gearbox you want to run make sure you get the correct master and slave cylinders as they are different for the R154 and the W series boxes.
Personally I wouldnt be spending the time converting your 7mge MX83 to a manual unless you have plans on going a full turbo upgrade at the same time to save overall costs (as you will find NA just wont cut it now with a manual box).

But as suggested above, if you dont have the mechanical knowledge to slightly alter the jza70 pedals to fit I suggest going the gx81 pedal box and w58 gearbox route.

Sucks you don't get any imports, I got to rape an SX81 for everything I needed for converting my GX81 to manual.

    Yuck!
