enlarge the trans tunnel quite abit I would say and also shifter positions will be different from what Ive read.
Currently undergoing a 1j conversion in the old 28chasing some info on mods required to squeeze the r154 into the tunnel? much banging to do?
Just wondering from the people who have done it, as i cant find any info searching. No specifics.
Thanks, Steve

either a custom tunnel or one out of a car designed to have an r154 in it. you can try the "bash it" technique but you'll be there for years.
shifter position is determined by the box you get but chances are it will be atleast 100mm back from the original.

isnt the stock position heaps far foward on them? ie near the dash.
the 23 ive got here at the moment has (just checking) 2 different shifter holes, hmmm thats weird. yeah the rear one would be sweet.
still dont think the (r154) box will fit in the tunnel properly without a shiteload of beating though.

You're correct, they do fit, but do require alot of beating...Originally Posted by The Real Roadrunner
Twinturbocelica has an R154 in his RA28 (the one for sale) and he used he used a large mallet... I'd say he was at it for a while though...
Thanks guys for the input, ontop of that, what about the tailshaft? would have to get custom yes?![]()
defaintely has to have custom tailshaft ;-) and you'll need to think about what rear end to put in it as well.
