Well SamQ, i must say i got great respect on your enthuasiasts on FE. Which is good.

Im not sure what is the duration of my 7AFE cam but i was told its 7.6 lift for both side. As for the speedzone cam, well i must say even i myself also give up on them. Whn they dun reply email or reply details thru phone calls, to me they dun deserve the business.

I do have a freind who had his cam reground at Crower hence i shoot crower an email. This is what he replied. Oh yeah, should you saw the spec or info i given to them was incorrect, do let me know.

    Hi Crower

Im looking for custom ground cams for my JDM Toyota Corolla 7AFE turbocharged engine. I do know Crower had done a custom ground cam for the 4AFE Turbo engine before. My engine was totally in stock form except 1.2mm metal gasket. Im not sure what is my stock cam duration but i do know its 7.6 lift. I hope you can find these information helpfull.

    Bore & Stroke
    3.19 x 3.37

    Compression
    9.5:1 (before 1.2mm gasket)

the intake closed at 38° ABDC, exhaust opened at 42° and exhaust closed at 2° ATDC. Intake valve opening at 6° BTDC.

    RPM Redline 6200rpm

Currently im looking at this cam spec. Will need your expertise advise should this cam works.
    264/8.1 & 256/8.1

Do i need to send in my cam? Tks

yes I have been more enthousiastic about my scooter lately but I am not losing faith.

if this is right "the intake closed at 38° ABDC, exhaust opened at 42° and exhaust closed at 2° ATDC. Intake valve opening at 6° BTDC." then your intake and exhaust duration are both 224 degrees, I also worked out that it has 112 degrees between lobe centers but that cant be right. My engine is an advertised lift of 8.6mm on the intake, this is at odds with everyone elses findings but my vernia and dial indicator cant both be wrong.

Anyway you cant grind your cam to specs like that because you need a blank cam to start off with or you have to weld the lobes up. The V8 guys can do it because they grind off the low side of the cam and then just readjust the valvetrain to suit. We cant do that because we cant adjust the buckets +3mm

    Hi SamQ,
So what is your conclusion about the cam regrind thing? Im sorry i get confuse on your last paragh.

This is whr i get the cam info from.http://www.toyoland.com/engines/4A-F.html

This is what i worry the most. nightmare. internet founded spec was totally diff from actual measurement. worse i think my 7afe is diff spec from the one u have so i seriously do not know the actual cam lift of mine unless i strip it off which can cost me quite some labour fees here.

Also SamQ, can do me a favor? Im looking to know the intake manifold internal diameter of the TB side. What i means is the TB shld be 50mm dia, but the intake manifold internal dia could be slightly bigger. perhaps 55mm or 56mm. I want my TB to be exact same internal dia size. Can u help me to check on this?

yes it seems like I have an unknown set of cams. As much as I would like to with your questions I do not own a 4afe manifold to measure the throttle for you, so I cant be of use.

You do have the later version of the FE head right?

also have you read through my FE head build up thread?

no problem at all, perhaps what you need is really the same cam-shafts my engine came with standard, I may know someone who has a set too for $50. PM me if you want to know more
