    Hi Mate, welcome to Toymods.

It might pay to be a bit more specific in your post. Actually asking a question usually helps too.

Are you looking for a brand of clutch and flywheel that would suit a 500hp 1G-GTE? Or do you what to know how to get 500hp from your existing 1G-GTE/W58/flywheel/clutch combination? Or do you want to buy a package that puts out 500hp? It's not very clear.

People here are quite willing to help, but if you don't spend the time asking complete questions, i wouldn't expect others to spend the time preparing responses.

    Cheers,
    Timbo

    Whats wrong with custom?

    Also specify something more specific...

    button? organic? twinplate? etc.

You could probably get a 5 puck clutch with a ~2500lb pressure plate to do the job, wouldn't be that custom or expensive.
Just an uprated plate from stock and a generic 5 puck clutch.

i couldn't agree more i but was open to ideas if you know what i mean i was just thinkin that as you good chaps over there have a little more going on with the 1g scene that there might be an of the shelf solution so as to speak
but for example a cerametallic non slip 5 paddle with right pressure plate would be spot on as this particular car is a budget build unlike my group a car if you know whar i mean lol
i do tend to scource most of my parts abroad as the exchange rate is better so if it means giving the business to you guys then i will do if there is a kit out there if not custom it is but as i said any advice or points in the right direction is appreciated
    thanks

I wouldn't call it a 'kit' but I bought my 5 puck clutch setup from a joint in north melbourne, they priced it real well and the kit hasn't slipped once.

You would probably buy that off them remotely?

The 1G uses a standard W58 clutch, the same one used on dozens of Toyotas over the years, so the fact you're using a 1G makes no difference at all.

There are off the shelf kits available but for that sort of power I'd be going for a custom made ceramic button clutch. There are plenty of good clutch shops over here who make them, surely you'd have an equivalent in your part of the world?

what size clutch? 225mm or bigger?
there are a shite load of companies over here that do them but you need to tell them what YOU need.

single plate wont last too long with 500hp so id go for a twinplate.

whats your budget? 2k or $1.50?

    cheers

about the same amount of time as a single plate would last, easier to change a gearbox than a clutch

if he puts a big clutch in the first time then he wont have to change it when he upgrades to an r154 (which would be doable if i get off my ass and finish the adapters )

    cheers

Road runner is looking to fabricate them........ Think he had a thread about it ..

Xtreme clutch is a pretty good option they do all sort of stuff. You should beable to contact them direct if ya stay up late enough to make the call

    http://www.xtremeclutch.com.au/

They are based here in Adelaide South Australia ( SA )
Have a look through their site and see what they do. They do all sorts of stuff from billet flywheels to twin plates.etc.

Id suggest giving em a call if they wont post it over to ya id be happy to go and pick it up and ship it to you. They aren't to far away from me.

Im using one behind my 4a on my W57. Havent had any probs with it or slipping etc. Its not too bad on the foot as far as the pressure plate weight and feel goes either.
prob be similar in power to what you are doing too .... so i can say they will handle it no prob.
