hay can we put this up some were??????

1.What the fuck is a URL? IMG tag?

URL : To put a picture up u need the URL of it. SO When u have your pic hosted on the internet RIGHT CLICK on the picture and click on properties. In this window you will see the URL and copy/paste this where required.

IMG tags are whut makes us see the picture, not the URL. SO when u want to put it in your sig, or in a post etc, get the URL from the pic and copy it.

to insert a picture into your post simply copy and paste the code below

    Code:

so unless you're mentally retarted (in which case we dont want you here), simply change the http://www.....jpg part to your link.

and when u hit ok or post etc it shall come up with the picture u have hosted.

2.How Can I Put My Picture On The Internet (eg. host it)

u need a place to UPLOAD your picture. There are a few hosting places out there but for the purposes of this site most of us use www.photobucket.com as u can have a gallery of your own stuff and all u have to do is copy/paste the URLs they give u to post it etc.

3.Why did my lame ass account get deleted?!?!

cos you didn't read the registration agreement and you're just wasting space around here.

    or is it to harsh??????

well actually - with the WYSWIG edittor you dont even have to right-click and copy the link!!! you just highlight the picture elsewhere and CTRL-C, then paste into the reply thread box!!

Regarding the technical articles if an article is worth keeping we should just turn it into a PDF and shove it on the main pages technical articles section... then we don't have to worry about the images going dead and we also draw more attention to the main page.

Just a thought but if you include imageshack into vBulletin, then wouldnt htat mean everyone can upload as much as they want, and not have to worry about hte storage?

    That's quite interesting.

    Wonder what it works like?

Perhaps we should give it a try while we're testing these forums?

    Sounds like a plan.

I'll look at setting it up this afternoon if I get a chance.

sounds good, as long as everyone leaves the links as thumbs rather than the whole image, would slow down the modem uses a whole lot.

So what's the go here now with the uploading pics?

I'd like to try to finish putting up my "Brake Upgrade" thread, but seeing as its got a lot of pics, it would become a bit hard to read in multiple posts.

I like the pdf idea though (but I only have access to an Adobe reader, not editor)

Maybe a suggestion for the Tech FAQ would be for people to email the board with the document in Word or html format (or even pdf if they can), & then the board puts it on the website.

At least we make sure there's only quality stuff on there then.

If you want to create PDFs, a good way is to install Open Office. It reads Word docs and can output PDFs...

It's pretty large though. And there are prolly better ways...
