Thanks for helping out with testing guys.

As you'll see with your test users you will not be able to post parts for sale or wanted threads, you'll also not be able even to look in the Toymods Car Club Members rides.

Your Members account should give you full access to post in any area other than making threads in the sponsors section.

If you take a look in the upper right corner of the users posts there will be a set of scales, this is what you use to make credibility votes. Please test this out as we need to see how quickly credibility acrues to determine the correct time for a user to promote from a basic restricted user to a group with more access that can post for sale threads.

Also play around with avatars. Avatars in the new software are not moderated however the normal rules apply and if use of them is abused access will have to be removed. I am also pretty sure I set it up so restricted users don't have the ability to use avatars.

If you manage to get your restricted user promoted to give more access please let me know and I'll take a look at how it went.

Are you sure you were logged in as this user? That user is only a member of the registerred users group so it should have no rights to those area's.

Can you go and try and post in those areas and make sure you are logged on as this user then get back to me?

some working notes:

# when you edit a post, and dont give a reason for your edit, there is no evidence within the post (after editing) to show that it has been editted.
# in the member's rides section - there are buttons there to create a new thread, but of course i am not allowed to post a new thread there as a wookie Im talking about the member's rides section, not the two separate subsections...

I have an edited post and it says edited at the bottom without putting any comment. I think there is a 5 min delay before it gets put on or some such

Yep there is a delay on the editted by tag so people can fix spelling mistakes etc.

The buttons are still there to post in the area's where users aren't allowed to post because we will be making posts in there to explain rules and guide lines etc for that setion of the forum.

So when are the new forums going live? Has a date been set? The slowness of the old forums is starting to get annoying.

there has been about 3 dates so far i think.... but each time it has been put back due to unforseen setbacks.

I think the latest update was that we were aiming for the Sept general meeting (18th), but im tending to think it needs just a liiiitle longer.

Sort of brought froward by the sods at GM IT that placed the old toymods forums on the banned site list !!!

Can't wait to see this one go live and get with the times.

So far it looks really great. Lots of effort from a whole lotta people so far.
