Yeah the purple one on ignition output 6 core flex
hi folks...
just bought a new tacho and realised i havent got a wiring/pin diagram for my wolf3d. does anyone know what colour the tacho/rpm output wire is on a wolf so i can wire my tach up?
cheers
Yeah the purple one on ignition output 6 core flex
You can also get the diagrams in PDF from Wolfs website
http://www.wolfems.com/component/opt...,16/Itemid,48/
The installation manual has a nice diagram with the pin outs
cheers, didnt think of that... ok, so now i have a problem. ive wired it all up (earth, power, lights) and the final wire that goes to the ecu is left, wiring it to the purple wire as suggested and im getting nothing on the tacho..the lights work and i can adjust the rpm redline limit for the light but the needle itself isnt working... any ideas?
Maybe the tacho needs a coil negative input. Make a coil negative converter for the ECU output (search for "tacho tech" or "coil negative converter"), or take a wire off the negative terminal of your coil (if you have one).
Hen
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
ok, well my setup has been converted to 4 individual coils. hmm, thanks for the info hen, i should be able to figure it out!
Hmm I didn't have any problems with mine, Running 4 dual output coils on a 3T-GTE,
wired to pin 17 on the ecu, ran both the factory tacho on a TA22 and an aftermarket one at the same time. output is just a squarewave and should work
dredging up an old topic... decided to ditch the shitty monster tacho.. im trying to nut out how to make the stock tacho work with the 4age and the wolf.... any suggestions?
cheers
Yeah just hook the purple one from the wolf up to the wire that from the factory went to coil negative. its black I think from memory and near the chassis rail towards the front on the drivers side
It's def black and can be hooked up directly to the purple wolf wire.
Assumption is the mother of all f**kups...
sweet.... so this wire is in the engine bay or will i need to pull apart the dash?

depends how neat you want to be. I just went to the wire where it came out of the loom in the bay as i had the wolf ign loom there anyways with my coils and ignigtors mounted there. Or you can tap into that wire anywhere right up to the tacho its self
cheers...its ths solid black one? ive got the dah apart as we speak and im not getting any movement from the tacho at all.. strange..
think this one might be best left to the auto elec ..!!?
have you got a wiring diagram for the ta22,? it may be a different colour at the guage. and you may have to enable the tacho output in the wolf software, It been ages since i set mine up and cant remember.
ahhh....its an ae86 not a ta22... dont have a wiring diagram but ill see if i can find one now..
