If they are installing the 044 "in-tank" then they are most likely using the factory power wires etc. Nissan have an ECU controlled earth return. This cuts the pumps down to half speed when ideling etc, so i cant see the being a problem

IF how ever they are cutting that earth wire and earthing it out to the chassis which seems to be a popular thing at the moment then they obviously haven't looked into the implications of doing so. I.e. changing for an after market fuel pressure reg (higher flow rate) as the skylines run two, a smoother and a reg. or upgrading the fuel return line/s.

But boiling fuel... i haven't heard of that one before.

KISS Norbie. I run x2 910's all the time with no issues in 4 years of running. Def none of this overheating fuel bullsh!t you hear so much of from a mate of a mate who's sister's second cousin's boyfriend had a fully sik skyline that would lay down a zillion kilowatts if only the fuel would stay cool

The GT4's run the pump at 6 volts until there's the throttle input to require 13V so you could ref your setup against a MAP threshold to trigger full voltage if you want to be fancy?

Hmmm yeah I call shenannigans on boiling fuel. You'd need a staggering amount of heat to get even 10L of fuel that hot given it's constantly circulating through several metres of fuel lines.

I like the idea of running the pump at lower voltage but I "heard" from someone that Walbro's don't like lower voltages for some reason? Methinks some experimentation is in order once I get it all fitted; I have a fuel pressure gauge so I can keep an eye on things. My main concern with running both pumps at full speed is the return line isn't very big and might cause excessive fuel pressure at low loads.

Anyway I just scored 2x external 255lph Walbros for US$200 so I'm committed to the plan now!

I've just been reading the manual for the E6K, it has built-in support for an auxiliary fuel pump triggered by engine load and/or RPM. All I need to do is add an extra relay and a check valve, so that's pretty easy.

    Sounds like a plan!

Let us know how you go with it anyway.

The more recent ones appeared to be exact copies in the sense that the average person buying online wasn't able to tell from pics, the difference being internal. The copy pumps were failing in just a few months of being installed!

brett_celicacoupe's way of hooking them up is probably the best way for performance, but 30psi 4agte's is a very 'safe' way to hook them up and still get the same performance!

well shit, i have an 040 and the serial number is stamped in it

how do you tell the difference?

Just be carefull you don't run the pumps too slow when doing this. If it is anything like larger centrifugal pumps, running them too slow dramatically shortens their life.
